Ladies, Remember Hair Rollers?
For about the past seven years, straight hair has been the trend. Who doesn't own a flattening iron or straightening iron? Who isn't burning the hell out of their hair in an effort to achieve that clean, straight hair look? It's hard to believe that back in the mid 1980s, I would set my hair every night using these soft colorful tubes. The tubes were flexible and painless while asleep.
As they increased in popularity, they became available for hot style rollers. Each bendable tube fit perfectly into a slot that heated the roller. I thought I looked awesome with my waves and curls. Looking back, I looked awFUL. I would try to bend them into ponytail holders, but they wouldn't keep the hair in place for very long.
I was surprised to find you can still purchase them! Click here to see for yourself!
My sister had those!!!!! Used em all the time. LOL
ReplyDeleteI had those! I thought they actually worked quite well, hehe. Although I was a 7th grader freshly out of elementary school AND a tomboy phase, so I didn't really know much about what looked good just yet :p
ReplyDeleteI probably still don't know. Hehee.
I used to use those all the time! In fact, I STILL have the same set I had when I was a tween. No, I don't use them anymore, but now I totally have to take them out again!
ReplyDeleteHow do you remember this stuff? And yes, I had these -- the ones that heated up in the case thingy.
ReplyDeleteVaguely remember these, but never owned any. Did own a set of hot rollers, though!
ReplyDeleteI've used those. They are very good, though NOT painless during sleep. (But perhaps I wasn't supposed to cut off my blood circulation.)

Yes! I remember these! And I remember wanting them which is ridiculous because I have curly hair!
ReplyDeleteHa! I was so desperate for curly hair, I permed my poker straight hair in the 80s! Dreadful!
ReplyDeleteAt least I don't have to work too hard at keeping it straight these days :-)
Man, give me an 80s starlet with a sexy perm and i was a happy man.
ReplyDeleteOH, I longed for curly hair. Alas, not even these little miracle workers could do it for me.
ReplyDeleteI just cut my hair pretty short and plan on keeping it short, no work at all. Get out of the shower and shake out the hair and smoosh with my fingers and done!
ReplyDeleteYouve got me wanting to buy some hair rollers now. Darn.
ReplyDeleteYes I remember those! I used to wear them all the time and they never worked!
ReplyDeleteYes I do! How funny- haven't thought of those in years!
ReplyDeleteused those on my daughter's hair. in my day my mom put those pink squishy rollers and before that those hard plastic ones...ouch!
