1980s Bopper, Deely Bopper & Antenna Headbands

I've covered wonderful '80s fashions including plastic charm bracelets, gummy bracelets, parachute pants and more. Now here's one wacky fashion accessory I'm hoping some other 1980s kids remember. Back in like 1981/1982, I loved what I called my "antennas"  -- I wouldn't leave home without them. I was a weird kid, I know. These antennas were basically a plastic headband with springs attached to glittery hearts, stars and other strange objects.

I loved my 1980's headgear which were professionally referred to as "Deely Boppers" and "Head Boppers."  I wore these wacky antennas to the mall, babysitting, birthday parties, Friendly's and even to Disneyland in California. My folks were so cool, they never questioned my outlandish styles even at the tender age of 10.

    We called those lovely head things "Beely" Boppers. I currently have 2 pairs of them with glittery weenies on the ends! Ha Ha. They still make holiday themed ones, but they're not as easy to find.

    I loved my glittery antenna headband. I was heartbroken when my dumb little sister squished one of the stars on the end and proceeded to suck of the glitter. (wait wasn't that last week)

    Had them. A special Captain EO pair that I DID get at Disneyland. I bet my kids would still love wearing them.

    I never wore any, but a couple of my kids had the capt'n EO ones that Cheeseboy just brought up.

    Darn it! I just went looking around the house for some, so I could send you a picture and I can't find them. I thought for sure one of the teddy bears was wearing them. Poop!

    I used to love those "Beely" Boppers. I lost a pair I had just gotten on a windy ferry boat trip and was just devastated.

    I remember these too! The spring part of the antenna would always get stuck in my hair! LOL. Jenne, I would die for your Pacman Pair!

    I never went with the antenna, because it just wouldn't fit over my karate kid bandana.
