Posing in my '80s headgear with my silly younger brother at his McDonald's birthday party |

I loved my 1980's headgear which were professionally referred to as "Deely Boppers" and "Head Boppers." I wore these wacky antennas to the mall, babysitting, birthday parties, Friendly's and even to Disneyland in California. My folks were so cool, they never questioned my outlandish styles even at the tender age of 10.
If you were an '80s kid, did you own a pair of these wacky antennas?
We called those lovely head things "Beely" Boppers. I currently have 2 pairs of them with glittery weenies on the ends! Ha Ha. They still make holiday themed ones, but they're not as easy to find.
ReplyDeleteI loved my glittery antenna headband. I was heartbroken when my dumb little sister squished one of the stars on the end and proceeded to suck of the glitter. (wait wasn't that last week)
ReplyDeleteHad them. A special Captain EO pair that I DID get at Disneyland. I bet my kids would still love wearing them.
ReplyDeleteOh I remember those things from my youth.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blast from the past! I loved these! That's a really cute photo of you and your brother.
ReplyDeleteYeah - I can't say I wire these, but I certainly remember the craze!
ReplyDeleteWow - must be Friday afternoon!
ReplyDelete"wore", not "wire".
I never wore any, but a couple of my kids had the capt'n EO ones that Cheeseboy just brought up.
ReplyDeleteThat is a darn cute photo of you!
Darn it! I just went looking around the house for some, so I could send you a picture and I can't find them. I thought for sure one of the teddy bears was wearing them. Poop!
ReplyDeleteI used to love those "Beely" Boppers. I lost a pair I had just gotten on a windy ferry boat trip and was just devastated.
ReplyDeleteI don't really remember these. I love your photo.
ReplyDeleteI didn't wear them, but I wanted some as a kid...
ReplyDeletei STILL have a pair :)one side is Pac man and the other is a ghost :)
ReplyDeleteI remember these too! The spring part of the antenna would always get stuck in my hair! LOL. Jenne, I would die for your Pacman Pair!
ReplyDeleteI never went with the antenna, because it just wouldn't fit over my karate kid bandana.
ReplyDeleteThose were the days!
I love that you found a picture of yourself with one on, too! I do remember those. Ohhhh, yes...
ReplyDeleteI think we got them at Putt Putt...
ReplyDeleteI had at least one pair~~~~~
