Happy Apple by Fisher-Price |
The Fisher-Price Happy Apple made its debut the same year that I did, 1972. It was a simplistic baby toy that made a beautiful chime sound when tipped. Between the sweet sound and that warm, smiling happy face, Happy Apple kept '70s and '80s babies mesmerized for hours.
Anyone remember this toy?
I STILL HAVE MINE! I refuse to give him up :)
ReplyDeleteI remember it being in our tag sale stuff when I was a kid. Don't know if it sold or is still in the boxes of junk we have stored.
ReplyDeleteI was too old and had no kids yet, so I don't know this one!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog...gets me all nostalgic and teary eyed with memories!
ReplyDeleteNot only do I remember it, we still have my husband's original! It has the top stem chewed off...by him LOL! Love this toy :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, I still have mine w/ the stem chewed off by yours truly. Seems knawing off the stem was so popular that later editions were made w/ a shorter stem, lmao!
ReplyDeleteI remember this wacky apple would always be laying around on the floor of my pre-school and when I'd see it, I'd try to pull the stem off because I thought the apple would look better without it! I think I gnawed a little on the leaves, too...
ReplyDeleteMy older brother was the first of 5 of us to play with this apple. None of us bit the stem but I just picked it up from my moms house for my 6 month old.I remember being fascinated by this toy!
ReplyDeleteI still have ours too my mom got it for my older sister which pasted it down . Needless to say this thing is over 40 yrs old and now all four of my kids have enjoyed it too great toy!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband have one of these apples that have been in their family over 40 yrs now our kids play with it. Great toy and we would never let it go it's here for ever on to the next generation!!!
